Water on the side of the foot well after rain. Any common failures that might cause this?

This is not from the HVAC gasket/drain. That part is bone dry.

Here's where the water is (as well as on the carpet below that area):

Windshield

Not in the LC, but my lexus sport cross:
I had a wet patch in that area because of my sunroof drains becoming detached and filling the overhead trim with water, which then dripped from the sunglasses pocket.

If you have a sun roof that opens, the drain may be clogged
They clog regardless of opening or closing. They are designed to let water in the drip pan.

This is likely water intrusion due to bad windshield trim / rivet install. The inner A pillar becomes a waterslide.

I'm a new 80s cruiser owner and just experienced this same problem after it rained overnight here in Texas... pools of water on both sides of the front floorboards. After seeing this thread and the responses, I went over to YT and found a short video on how to clean out your sunroof drains. I plan to try this later today so here it is if it helps you at all Obiban:

Will do that before replacing the glass!

… not supposed to rain for a week, so won’t know the result till then 🙄

Thanks!

Speaking of the hvac drain, does anyone know how to get at that? Wet floor when using A/C with no rain.

It pops out on the other side of the firewall, right across from the passengers feet. That was my first try with this issue.

Wow! Suspect this may have been my issue!

Did a 1/3 a cup of water and it dumped in my exact location.

Cleaned the drain, did an entire cup— and the floor stayed 100% dry.

Thank you!
