Water in Transmission

Hi Due to coming unstuck during a deep river crossing i have had the not too pleasent experince of getting water in my transmission . I have had the transmission flushed but 10,000ks later my torque converter has started to vibrate when coming out of lock up .
I have just had the transmission seviced again with some addative to remove the water, not sure what this will do.
My options are change torque convertor $2500
Rebuild transmission & torque convertor $4500 +++
Sell the truck .

Not sure what to do as up untill the truck was drowned i realy loved it and it is packed with aftermarket goodies .

BTW these are Aussie prices .

Looking for any suggestion .

Cheers
Dave

Is this a hdj100?
year and mileage?

Early models with the 4 speed transmission has a known weakness in the torque converter.
The problems start as a vibration, failiure to unlock or shift down during quick decelerations (truck stalls when coming to a quick stop).
The torque converter has since been changed to a better version.
Problems usually start around 200-250k km's.

Buy a used transmission out of a wrecked one and swap it in.
X2

Did some digging and found you have a 2007. I.e you don't have that converter weakness. Those boxes are pretty solid, so a 2nd hand one is an excellent idea. Easy job as well.
