A few friends bid on a Bring a Trailer land cruiser in the past month. They were in contact with the seller, had his real name, email, everything. Vehicle did not meet reserve, closed about 3 weeks ago. About two days ago they received email by someone claiming to be the owner, provided the original auction link, and said "we can talk and arrange purchase if you are interested". Except the emailer had a different name, different email; guessing new scammer who hasn't finished taking the FJ40 Scam 101 class.
Wanted to post just in case someone on this forum is contacted. Guessing most on here are more experienced and don't get into the bidding frenzy BaT brings, but it never hurts to avoid a future disaster.
