I have organized a "helping hand" car wash/bake sale at the Camelback Toyota Body shop located at Highland and 7th street on the S.E. corner across from Brophy Prep school to help a brother out. It is this Saturday from 9am to 2pm.
One of my technicians crashed on his motorcycle and ground his ankle and right elbow down to the bone.
He is mending remarkably well to the point of not needing skin grafts. He has been out of work for a while and is now challenged financially between the hospital bills (his non-insurance portion is still overwhelming) and regular day to day expenses. He will be out for at least 8 more weeks due to complications with his ankle. I've worked with Rich for 10 years and he is a good guy/father/friend to many.
If you happen to be in the area and have a sweet tooth and/or a dirty vehicle, please drop by and check it out. No fixed prices, taking donations only for the sweets and the wash to help him meet some of his financial obligations. Maybe even a band!
