Was Two Tone an Option on all 60's or only certain years?

I am looking at an 85 and wanted to see if it was a year offered in two-tone?

Dunno but I've never seen a US two tone 60 (does not mean they are not out there). I have seen stock 2 tone 62s, know the ones I saw were late 88s and 89 year model.

I've been trying to figure it out for some time, and in asking around no one could tell me for sure. It's red with charcoal two toning.

I'm no expert, but I think I've only seen two-tone 62s too.

Jwest just posted a color code chart on the VIN question I just posted. It was a factory option in 85

Okay option for 85, anybody ever seen a two tone 60? I have seen several 62s that looked pretty good. I figured that color scheme was brought on to sell to the soccor mom's along with the e-windows and auto tranny.

Was it a US option? got my couriosity up.

Nope. Never an option from the factory in the us. There! I said it! I stand by it! It's still real to me dammit!

Hold on fellas, I did post a paint chart in another thread.
But let's back up and clear any misunderstanding.

I posted a Toyota paint chart as a reference so that a code could be deciphered. The intent being to compare the original paint code to the current color.

These charts are paint code references for every color offered for ALL models built within a specific year. Of course, only a scant few of were used for the LandCruiser.

--cabron, what's the paint code on the 60 and does it match the color?
Red/Charcoal is an odd combo and nothing close to it is listed as a two-tone for 1985.

Not sure if these are factory, but they sure look it...

two tone 1981 60:

I've never seen a two tone 1981 before(but then again how many 1981 60's do you ever see?) The two tone 62 seems to be a lot more common.

62

That's a pretty clean lookin' 62, but geez, they coulda cleaned the pine needles out of the engine compartment!!!

:)

only 88-90 fj62's came in two tone. Fj60s in the US(at least) never did.

Here is my old (original) paint job; it had a dealer paint option (I was told) that was almost two-tone. It was really cool/retro, but the Arizona heat faded it out and I decided to repaint it back to just silver (factory code, of course).

That doesn't look two-tone. All I see is black and white. :D

Carson, your FJ60 technically wasn't a two tone paint job. It was a factory base silver color (code 147), and when it came over here to the US, the dealer installed the stick on vinyl graphics. As you recall, my 87 FJ60 had a simpler black pinstripe graphics that were dealer installed, I assume at the request of the original purchaser.
