Yesterday my battery light came on in the morning and stayed on. At lunch I borrowed a multi meter and got 12.6V on the battery with engine off and 11.6 engine running. Not good! So, I called the local Toyota dealer to get an estimate on a new alternator and my local guy that I used to bring my Taco to. Needless to say he was about 150 less than the stealer. Anyway, I thought I had an extended warranty that was included in the purchase of the truck when I got it last September. Although it is still within the date range it is no longer valid because the original owner didn't sell the truck directly to me. Nor, did he transfer it over within 30 days of purchase. This is in the fine print, which the seller of the vehicle didn't tell me when I bought the car. He actually used the warranty as a selling point. Caveat emptor and all that s***. So, read the fine print on those extended warranties and make sure they will transfer to you when you purchase. Rant over.
