warn xd9000i killing my battery

hey fellas, I just picked-up a used xd9000i for my 80. i'm running a optima yellow top and with the engine at idle and the winch set in freespool and without a load will kill my engine in less than 10 seconds. Is this normal or m I in need of stronger battery?? any feedback will be greatly appreciated.

Hi All:

Are you saying that the rig will stop running if you send power to the electric winch?

If so I'd say that you have a wiring issue.
