Hi, i received a free 12V warn winch almost new, but i have a 24V system, is there any way besides another winch, any suggestions thanks

What model Warn is it?
Winches are so cheap these days ,I would probably buy a new one,but if its a top shelf WARN it might be worth modifying

it's a CE M 6000 with two snatch blocks, fully wireless remote control the guy was an undertaker and the winch was inside his truck so no rust or damage and he used it to pull big granit blocks into the truck, does the motor not fry when used on 24V, i will make some pictures and post them

You can run the 12V motor at 24V....evnutually will fry.

Alternatively you may be able to do a trade in for a 24V motor

stupid to fry it, no? is it only the motor that has to change?

Maybe sell it and buy a new 24 volt winch. IMO a 6000lb winch will be a little small if you get a fully loaded troopy stuck in mud or have to winch a long distance up a steep hill.
I think these are more for small 4wds like Suzuki ,jeep etc. Although with snatch blocks it will do bigger jobs but it will be real slow.

MUD also has dedicated winching and recovery forum.Dont forget to tell them your vehicle weight

Bummer only 6000lb, IMO I would sell it and buy at least a 9000lb low mount or a 8000lb high mount. With the 6000lb you would most probably find you need to use a snatch block very reguarly. Though sticking 24V through it will make it pull better!

can't i upgrade the motor is still cheaper than a new one

It depends on how much they want for a 24v motor. These days they slug you real hard on the spares so you are forced to buy a whole new unit.
It also depends on how much you could sell the 12V winch for
