As the title says I want to find the best FJ-40 I can get for around 3K. Send me a good description of your truck and some detailed pictures of the bad parts and everything else ;) to lunyou@gmail.com

LOCATION: Central MO(will travel)

PRICE(in case you missed it on the second line) $3,000ish.

If you have a project you want to offer email me about it also although due to time/space/wife constraints I will have to be more picky about the projects.

Thanks

lunyou

Call Caravan Campers in Reno NV. They have their original 40 for sale. To my knowledge its a one owner truck and clean. Your price is not that high from their advertised price.

I'm not affiliated with them or the cruiser.

hey thanks for the tip....what is their advertised price if you can remember?

Thanks

lunyou

i am not to particular, since I don't think I can be for $3,000.

But since you are asking...

KellyO - I would rather have one with the Toyota 2F or F but a V8 that is a good swap(no cooling problems etc) is probably an option, my wife would really like it if it also had an auto tranny in it :rolleyes

Danimal - If I had to narrow down to a year or two I would say as new as possible somewhere in the 80's would be ideal but realistically I haven't found one that new for a while close to my price range..........I also have a wierd fasination with the old ones too........especially those with the accordian rear hatch windows.

TnToyota - Trim level? I wasn't aware that the 40s had different trim levels.

I guess I should have been more descriptive in my first post..........I had a long one typed out but figured everyone would quit reading and then say, "To much work, next thread please"

I called caravan camper and the truck is gone. Thanks for the tip though.

Are you still wanting to look at mine??

Btcruiser - right now yours is out of my price range.......nice truck nonetheless, sorry I didn't get back to you sooner.

D'animal - thanks for the tidbit on the brakes and 2f info........I guess that is around the year I should be looking for and there aren't any smog requirements here in my part of MO........there are requirements should I move to St. Louis but I am not planning that any time soon.

lunyou

1976 was the first year of the 2F and front disc brakes.

Do you have any smog requirements in MO to contend with?

75 has 2F.....
