I've been working planning my summer Troopy project. I spent some time poking around under it today and found some frame damage that I had previously overlooked. I think I can fix it but wanted to see if someone might have a good frame they are looking to sell.

Check with rapovt here on mud. He was trying to move a troopie, then changed his mind at some point. Can probably make 1 good truck from the two. Oh and its mustard.

do you still think they are as honest as you had stated previously ?

Why does it matter?

I got the truck and didn't get screwed out of the money. I'm a lot better off than many of the other people that did business with them.

I can say that I never caught them in a lie and I tried really hard to do so. Does that make them "honest"? Not necessarily.

I am happy with my purchase. It was worth the money to me. I have no regrets.

Can we move on?

I was thinking about dropping him a note. I did read the threads where he was trying to sell his Troopy.

I don't need a new frame, the problem is in the rear spring hanger area. I'm sure I can fix it but to do a good job I'll most likely end up pulling the body off the frame. And if I'm going to go that far I might as well Rust Bullet the whole thing too after swapping the 13B-T into the chassis.

Having a second frame would just be a luxury of sorts. I could do the drivetrain swap and rust proofing work at more of a liesurely pace. I really don't want a whole second Troopy though. The wife would most likely go ballistic.

isn't the long wheel base frame rear section the most similar to the troopy ?

they may even use the same spring length ?

I'm not sure. I'm still learning about this thing. I do think the LWB and the Troopy frame are the same. The Chassis & Body FSM doesn't indicate a difference.

I have SolidWorks and access to a CNC plasma cutter. It may be easier for me to just design a replacement section and bolt it in place. I won't know for sure until the snow melts and I can get the truck back to the house. (It's been in a storage facility since early Oct. and I haven't spent much time with it since then.)
