El Dorado County has grant money to spend, and they're gonna spend it working on the trail. Their plan is to hire work crews to do trail armoring, dig catch basins, build water bars, and help prevent sediment from leaving the trail.
It pays $15.47 an hour, you get three meals a day, you'll work four 10 hour days a week, Monday through Thursday under the supervision of El Dorado COunty DOT folks, and you'll get every Friday, Saturday, And Sunday off. There will be a camp set up for you to stay in, but you don't have to...go home, go camp somewhere, or stay in the DOT camp, your choice.
They're accepting applications now, will begin the hiring process next week, and expect to be working by August 1st, if not sooner. The job will last into early October unless we get REALLY early snowfall.
I know a little about it, and will answer questions if I can.
