so how many miles would you need to put on it to break even ....:)

Our target clientele want the diesel for reasons other than saving a few bucks at the pump. If you are looking to run diesel just for the novelty, then the swap definately doesnt make sense for you. We are definately not expensive in the conversion sect. At the SEMA show, there were guys charging $25,000 for CRD liberty swaps into Jeep wranglers and had customers lined up for at least a year. If you want dramatically increased off-idle torque, 25-30% better mpgs, the ability to use biodiesel, make your own fuel at $.40 per gal, increased range etc etc, then we highly recommend it. Thanks for the plug though Corey

Diesel Toyz uses the 1KZT-E 3.0 liter inline 4 cylinder turbo diesel engines on all of our conversions. These engines are available in the KZN-130 platform (1990-1995 Toyota trucks/4runners) and the KZN-185 platform (1995-2004 Tacomas/4runners). These engines give bullet-proof reliability and unbelievable power/torque at low rpm. The specs are 165 hp and 220 ft/lbs torque at 2200 rpm.

Just curious where the quoted power figures came from for a 1KZT-E? The figures I am familiar with puts it at ~130 hp @ 3600 rpm with maximum torque of ~212 lb-ft @ 2000 rpm.

mayebe they are using the CRDi version of the 1KZ. the 1 KD-FTV. the engine with an addition of a power chip increases to about 180-190 hp category.
