I drove down to indy for work early Monday morning and the transmission in my 85 4runner gave out.

I had the truck towed out to my buddy's in Camby where I'm staying, so I've got a place to work on it, But I'd bet the transmission is done.

Anyone got one local and reasonable?

If not, I've got one back at the house in IL. It would just save me driving back and forth.
Thanks.

Ive got one of each sitting on a shelf in the garage. The G-series is ready for a forward shift, the W-56 ready for a top shift t-case. The G-series could use a new shifter bushing as its getting sloppy.

How about $25 for the G, or $50 for the W? Or make an offer.

Well, if no one down here offers one up, I'll probably take you up on the w.
The one at the house is a g, the one in the car is a w.
I'll send you a pm, but I still hope I can get one here.

Thanks Todd

That was painfull to watch....It made me want to sell my truck and buy a subaru.

I suspect the trans is junk as well, but now I know why it wouldn't move under its own power anymore...

That's one of those new-fangled multi-piece clutch disks!

Crap... Two days to get an oem from Toyota locally.
Anyone have a suggestion (or a disk) before I call Abq, and see if I can have one overnight-ed to indy?

The NAPA brute force is actually a really nice clutch for these trucks. Ive got one with less than 2K miles on it you could just have if you need one.
