I will be visiting Charleston from the very end of August through the first week or week and a half of September. What are some good places to eat/drink? What are some fun places to go or cool stuff going on?
Thanks for the help

Pat

If you are staying downtown....stand on Market or East Bay streets...close your eyes...throw a rock and where it lands go eat and drink. Seriously...this small city has one thing (besides 8:1 ratio of women to men) and that is fine places to eat and drink.

PM me where you are staying and such and will send you some ideas that are not tourist traps...and if you have time for any sight seeing.

Bring some good sunglasses, so your wife, girlfriend, or others don't see you staring at all the college girls. Seriously, I have never seen so many in an 8 block radius in my life.

If you want a nice romantic, great seafood dinner, hit The Boathouse on Isle of Palms. It's got a beautiful view, and the food is great. Make sure you get the blue cheese cole slaw with what ever you order.

For the best BBQ in town, hit our cruiser buddies place on Savannah Hwy, Bessingers BBQ. It'll make your tongue slap your brains it's so good!

For drinks, there is about 800,000 places to choose from. They all serve the same thing. I always liked going to Redfishes on the creek to watch the boats come in as I drank. I never really liked anything downtown, except the women!

Looks like I will be in town from the 29th of august to the sept 11. Brock I am really not sure where I will be staying. Trying my best to not stay on Charleston AFB. Any recommendations of nice places? By the way do you guys have fishing charters?

Thanks

Pat

yes there are fishing charters....and some good hotels within per diem by airport and coliseum. a couple of our members run inshore charters and one might have connections to offshore out in gulfstream....have to check unless someone here knows about RedFishBlueGrass and others.

Hilton, Holiday Inn, Garden Suites are all right there at coliseum and likely called Aiport hotels as airport is on one end of International Blvd and they are on other right off I-526. Centrally located, lots of places to eat around them....and better area than staying outside gate on Dorchester or elsewhere.

Well I made it in. Forgot what humidity feels like. So I guess shorts are in order. Brock I sent you a pm.
