and I have rented a group campsite in the mountains of Southwest VA for ourelves and 20 guests. I hope some ONSC families will be able to join us!Plans are to spend Saturday, Sept. 3rd enjoying the activities the campground has to offer including canoeing, hiking, fishing and swimming, followed by dinner around a campfire.
On Sunday we'll drive down to Damascus, VA to rent bicycles, ride a shuttle up to Whitetop Station and then coast and pedal our way down to Damascus via the Virginia Creeper Trail, stopping along the way to take in the sights (an old railway station, a Christmas Tree farm, and many railway trestles) and have a picnic lunch.
On Monday, checkout isn't until 2 pm so we'll have more time to enjoy the campground.

Can't convince your family to camp or don't have the gear? Rent a cottage or a room in nearby Damascus.
Have your own bike? Great, but you'll still want to catch a ride to the top on a shuttle. Worried about your little one(s)? Rent a pull behind (attaches to your seat post) or trailer for your infant or toddler.
