never really heard of those before but those are some great prices.

Who makes them for Viper and what country are they made in???

Oh sure Stan, lets have a group buy right after I buy two. ;p

FWIW, I had to to take Julie's apart to rotate it to fit in the ARB and the guts looked to be virtually identical to the Warn guts that were in my old M8000. So far Julie's has preformed great......the one time we used it. ;)

Viper has been producing ATV winches for several years and have built a good reputation in that field.

Mottoaliance produces the Viper Winch line. They have a factory in MN. Many of the components they use come out of China. The fact that parts resemble some of the Warn parts is not a coincedence as some of the Warn parts are also made in China.

Made in China carries a bad reputation with many people. There are good manufacturers as well as bad in China, just like here in the US. The port of Long Beach just took delivery of three huge cranes from China today, something tells me that they are most likely not junk.

While I try to avoid chinese made stuff in principle when I can (which is almost impossible and my XRC winch most definantley is from China, you are right that there are good and bad ones there.

If I didn't already have one I would be all over this deal.

100' of 5/16" is $210.00
85" of 3/8" is $240.00
This includes a Hawse style fairlead.

That is a bit lower than retail and the discount is from The TOY Outfitters, not the manufacturer as the Amsteel rope is not a part of the group buy. It does come standard on the Elite winches.

I wonder if we could get Viper to donate one for the Spring Tide Ride raffle since Warn was pretty picky... Greg ?:) Then everyone could check them out...

As a manufacturer myself I understand why Warn is picky about how they support events. I get around 80-100 requests for merchandise a year and I am small potatoes compared to companies like Warn. Funny part is most give no refference to the event, no links to coverage of past events etc.
