Have you searched some of the alarm/starter installation forums? They also have thriving forums like mud ... but without the mud.

Quick Google search pulls up this page:

A Step-by-Step Viper 5901 Remote Starter & Alarm Installation Guide - Chevy TrailBlazer, TrailBlazer SS and GMC Envoy Forum

I know it's not a diesel and not a Toyota but you might get some hints.

I have a CompuStar starter installed on my KZJ78 - the installer had a VERY difficult time and he is a VERY skilled installer (10+years). It's not an easy one. He spent about 13 hours labour on it and at least 3 of those hours was with CompuStar technical support for professional installers.

First there has to be a delay for the glow - most alarms have this so that's not too hard. Second he needed to add a module, don't ask me what kind, to control the crank time. Lastly, and this was his gift to me, he gave me a button that I could use for the Idle Up that is available on my truck. I could start the truck with one button, then after it started I could Idle Up with another button. Really nice on the very cold days!

Best of luck.

The bumper was the first thing i made on my car ^^
