Two weeks ago I went on a wheeling trip in North Texas and was climbing an obstacle which required I give it a bit of gas. After we hit the trail ending, I noticed that once I started the truck back up, I had some vibration/harmonics in the interior now. I can feel the engine starting through the chassis of the vehicle.

I checked the transfer case mount since that hangs down the lowest and didn't notice anything out of whack. The only thing that I noticed is that the frame damper had a broken bushing which I have now removed. I notice no difference in the vibrations through the cabin.

Is there anywhere else I should be checking? I popped the hood and tried to look for noises or anything that was loose but the vehicle drives fine.

For what it's worth, I do have some worn steering rack bushings but didn't think this would cause harmonics into the chassis and only loose steering.

Maybe you knocked this thing off!

That's what I was referring to as the "frame damper" with the broken bushing. Does that thing really cause that much havoc in the cabin of the vehicle if not installed?

I have had that issue before with the OPOR sliders and it's definitely a different sound. I checked when I got home from the trip and I have a lot of clearance.

To clarify, this vibration in the chassis/cabin of the vehicle is engine dependent. The more I rev the engine, the more I can feel the vibrations.

is it only while your moving or can you feel it standing still also?
if only while moving check your drive shafts. I was chasing a washboard vibration at speed and turned out I had a small dent in the rear drive shaft. Swapped it and smooth again.

I can test the motor mounts today by having somebody put it in park and hold the brake while applying gas. How do I test the transmission mounts?

@Ali FJ80 I can definitely feel it when I'm standing still. If I rev the motor I can feel the vibration through the vehicle.

I also forgot to mention that my transfer case shifter is now tweaked to the right. It still shifts to low range okay, but is noticeably tweaked towards the right side.

How easy/hard is the transfer case mount to get to?

Duc when you do the steering rack, its a lot easier when you loosen the motor mounts and lift the engine. After you do that it will be easy to inspect/replace the motor mounts.

The transfer case mount is directly below the transfer case and mounts to an easy to remove cross member.

I assumed there was more than one transfer case mount. The one viewable from the bottom of the truck seems fine.

Ordered some motor mounts, slapped them in and the vibration is gone!
