Valve clearances after a desmog

Do the valve clearances change after you've desmogged? Or do you still use the same gap specs shown in the factory manual?

I always go a bit higher than stock. .08 and .13 is stock, (or around there) I go .09 and .14 for all motors eiter smog or no smog. All F series motors should rattle a bit. They should sound a bit like and ole sewing machine.
