The timing marks are on the fly wheel (at the back of the engine) on the passenger side (non-carburetor side). There is a little window above the starter motor that you need to open up. There is a pointer under the window cover. There are two marks on the flywheel, a straight line (TDC) and a hole with a bb in it (7deg BTDC). For adusting the valves use the straight line. When adjusting the ignition timing use the other mark. It might be easiest to locate the marks the first time by removing the flywheel inspection cover from underneath the engine. This gives you a much wider view of the flywheel than the timing window.

Valve cover on the 2F is make of aluminum.

Do a search on "valve adjustment" and you'll find everything you need!
Finding TDC is a little different than other vehicles I've owned, but its no big deal. The notch is on the flywheel, pass side behind a little door. I believe TDC is a circle and the timiing mark is a line. I used a post by Jim Phillips when I did mine.
The one thing you'll have to get used to is that there aren't any valve specs for a cold motor. It has to be fully up to operating temp to get it right.
Have fun,
