Posting this for a friend who works for one of the local dealers.

One of his customers replaced this 2F with a SBC in a 40

First off, I know virtually nothing about 2F's or 40's

Supposedly came out of a 78 or 79 FJ40 and has 40K miles. All OE and includes everything: oil pan to air filter, bell housing to fan blade...

Seems odd to me that it would have an A/C compressor coming out of a 40:meh:

What is it worth?

Well, it doesn't look like my 2f

My 84 FJ60 has the a/c and alternator reversed. Also, two separate belts rather than one big one. Thats gonna make someone a nice spare.

This one must be rebuilt with 40k. I paid $500 for the spare/backup sitting in my shop. Most I've seen have been going for that price~. Might fetch alittle more if he's got the paperwork from the builder..

Looks like the shroud, tranny, t-case etc... might be included in the deal. -Based on the pallet behind the 2F.

it has the factory PS pump and factory AC, so I'm guessing it's a '79 or newer. Has the fuel pump that would've gone to a '78 though. If there's any way to document the mileage, you might be able to squeeze a few more bucks out of it. I bought a used '79 with the tranny and tc (but no PS or AC) for $900 just recently.
