Ok, you guys with V8's, what did you do for the throttle linkages?
The stock linkage in my truck is all done with rods and pivot points.
I keep staring at it but nothing is coming to my old feeble brain. New
peddle and run a cable? Where did you get it?
Thanks!

Lane I know that some FJ40's had a cable. I know mine does. What about finding a cable version? I think both my 77's are cable.

Hey Lane

I have a Summit Racing throttle cable, I don't know the part # it's been to long :hhmm:
I can get you pic's tomorrow, the camera batteries are dead, i tried...

The iphone camera saves the day, in the last pic the other cable is my hand throttle and the twist is needed coming out of the firewall.

The above is one that you can find at most parts stores. I know I have seen them at autozone. They are with all the chrome parts.

i thinkI used the summit set up or a lokar seems to ring a bell. I bought a new pedal but ended up returning it and using the stock one and just heating it up and bending it to the shape I wanted and slitting the top for the cable.when you set it up you need that slight slack like Jr. has int he above pic as well as the return spring.

Picked up a cable. Now I'm modifying my pedal. On the 74 the rod makes a 90 degree bend just above the
pivot point and goes out thru the firewall.
I need a measurement from the pivot point (spring) up to where the cable attaches.
Thanks!

Thanks Rick, I need to check my manufacture date, think it was 11/74.

I think I have an early 74 cowl here at the house if you need parts off it.

I chopped up the pedal I have and rewelded it, If you have one
like Ricks I could use it. Should have this hooked up in the morning.
Then on to the driveshaft.
