Hi ONSC Friends

I'm new to the forum. I've met a couple of you guys around Greensboro and been invited to join a meeting / ride, etc. I've had 5 FJ's, my first in Canada. (2 55's, 1 40 and 2 60's) My current one is an 87 FJ60 2F slower than a snail. I'm planning to do an engine swap in the next few weeks. Adding a 93 LT1 FI and using my stock 4 speed. I've read several pro's and con's on adapters, etc. Looking for some advice from someone who has used the Marks Advance kit or another product. Also, not sure if the Advance 713024-EK (which is much cheaper than Marks) will work on the FJ60 4 speed. I've altered driveshafts before so I don't mind doing that if necessary but hoping to get some expertise advice. Thaks for your time.

I would also like to know when and where the next ONSC monthly meeting is. Thanks.

Welcome aboard Poppa T

I cant provide too much expertise on the adapters as ive used a domestic transmission behind both mine. There are a few others that should chime in though. Or the knowledge database in the main natl forum may is a bit deeper as well if needed.

The local triad area monthly meetings are the first tuesday of the month. Hope to see you at one soon.

Welcome!!

AA's website specifically says that the 713024-EK kit will work with the FJ60 4 speed, but you will need to modify your driveshafts.

Thanks for the respnoses. I thought that is what I understood from AA's site but had read somewhere else that the FJ60 "had" to use the Marks adapter. Thanks again, looking forward to getting this project done and some involvement with the ONSC. Happy New Year. -PT

Thanks Jason, where does the Local Triad meeting take place and what time?

Some of what AA sells is Marks stuff that may be the case here.

Convert that LT1 to coil packs if you are ever going to do water crossings or high mud... the optispark does not like direct moisture much, which was nice of GM to put it directly behind a water pump.

6:30 first tuesdays of the month and weve gotten pretty loose and late to announce the via a thread posted here but it has been floating between different recommended locations between W/S, GSO and HP. Ideally we should settle on 1 or 2 good ones but the variety can be nice.
