V8 emblem placement

I know, I know, another stupid question. But I did some research on this one first at least and found no definitive answer.

The only emblem left on the rear hatch of our 1999 Cruiser is the Toyota symbol. I have the rest of the emblems and have determined that the words Toyota Land Cruiser should go in that order. But, V8, half the trucks seem to have it on the left, half on the right. I thought left was correct. Is left correct?
