Hi guys I just bought a lx470 with a water damaged ecm, i ordered a used ecm on ebay, my question is:
Do i need to send the ecm to a place so they reprogram my existing key on the new ecm?

Probably yes. Ask whoever is selling the ECM if they have a key for the same vehicle.

Once you have one master key you'll be able to program others

How did the ECM get soaked? Might want to address the source of the water first.

When I was having my mystery CEL problems one of the things we tried was swapping ECMs with another truck (same year). In the end and after many attempts, my truck would not take the other truck's ECM. The person doing the work is a Toyota tech trainer and was doing it with a Toyota computer also. So, be prepared for some headaches.
