Uwharrie Run Nov 6th

Anyone up for a run to Uwahrrie before it closes?
Soon it will be winter and we will be sitting around wishing we could get out on the trail.

Uwharrie is about 5 or so hrs but its an easy drive, better than driving west on Friday.

I posted in the NC group to see if anyone is going soon. Those guys know the trails well.

I'm open to other options as well.

I think we have a tentative date of Nov 6th.

A possible from a couple of the ONSC guys.
This would be great since they know the trails plus they know what they are doing.

Prob go down early on Friday and Camp.

I would love to go but my 80 is still down:bang:. Sorry Dave:grinpimp:

How many hours Dave?

I'm trying to make it to this one..... just got to hook the rear axle and brakes up and swap in the gears and locker into the front axle.

Oh and fix the egr problem and wire up the compressor and locker dial...... hmmmm not actually sure if I will make it. Maybe i'll catch a ride.

Hey guys - I'll have to start visiting this part of the forum regularily. I've been to Uwharrie for the past 3 yrs in a row with a group of friends that I grew up with. We've made a point to do this trip annually and normally go shortly after Uwharrie opens in the spring. It does take roughly 5 hours from this area but we are normally towing trail rigs, etc so its normally slow going. I'll have to check my calendar and see if Nov 6th is a possibility for me...

Cool, hope can make it.

Do you tow the 40 with the 100?

David - I've had the FJ40 for a little over a year. I was planning to tow it behind my 100 for our last trip but started a rear disc brake conversion on the FJ40 which found other problems and it didn't make the trip. I do plan to trailer the FJ40 behind the 100 in the future. Right now I don't think its up for a 5 hour interstate drive (SOA on 37's) and the trailers are good security in case something breaks... Every year it seems like someone breaks something or has problems so I will be borrowing a trailer for the 5 hr ride next time... I do trailer a boat with similar weight with the 100... That said - I've taken my 100 up almost everything at Uwharrie 3 yrs in a row, almost stock with 32" mud terrains and a factory rear locker... I have a 2.5" suspension lift on the way for the 100 so it is also getting some upgrades in the near future...

Sweet , Bring the 100 in Nov. Then we will have one of each out there. I think we have 60s, 80s, 40s and even a possible 55.

Anyone Going?

Hey everyone.
The trip for this weekend is still on.
We've got a few from VA going.
Anyone else going to be able to make it?

We will be at the outpost around 9:00, I'll be driving my blue 40 and freezing my but off. My buddy will be pulling his toyota truggy w/ a white powerstroke, and I think we'll also have a 22re powered buggy on rockwells and 49'' iroks w/ us. If you see us give us a shout....

I enjoyed wheeling w/ ya'll and I'm glad ya'll made it home in one piece, and yea, I saw the dreaded death wobble...

I've been there before, and its not fun. I had no tools, so I knew I wouldn't be any value to ya'll at the outpost. What caused it?

No sweat,
PS shackle pin came loose and was flopping around.
Too much flexing I guess.
Got it going but will need to get new bushings.

It is scary, and sucks crapping your pants before a 6 hr drive.

See ya next time.

Glad you made it home alright Dave.

I posted a few pics over on the ONSC thread too.

I'm already looking forward to the next trip, maybe somewhere closer!

ONSC Uwharrie run going on December 3-5. If anyone's interested, let us know!

Thanks for the invite. I'm trying to get a trip to Crozet the following weekend so I cant do 2 weekends in a row.

Do you think any of your guys would want to do a Crozet trip? Maybe in the spring?
I think the one in 2 weeks conflicts with your Xmas party, if I recall.

Dave

Yeah, our Christmas dinner/party is in two weeks. I think we'd be down for a run in the spring!
