If you have not been to one of the pas Veterans rides then this year is the time to come out and celebrate all Veterans past and present, active and retired. This ride is to bring Veterans and everyone else together for fellowship with each other, and time to honor and remember the ones who have served and may no longer be with us.

SHAZAM!!

Damn that didn't work for the sticky...... Brian over to you

Thanks for getting those dates up

Ok,

So alot of people on here do not know how many meetings i have been going to up there for the new way we are trying to get this whole Uwharrie going better. Since Dec 15th i have gone to 2 more meetings up there. To include another one on the 19th of this month. Now where i am going here is this. If i can make 2 meetings a month and also make it to the work weekends then i beg of everyone on here in ONSC to step up to the plate and try to make 3-5 workdays each year.

Now we are trying to get the 3rd Saturday to go away if the clubs will step up and own their trail. Now, I would like to see our club step up to the plate first and own up to our trail first and set the standard for other clubs / trails.

This first workday will involve putting guard rail up on Rocky Mount Loop, and i ask for everyone that can make it to please try to make it out. I will not be working that day but going and walking our trail to get pictures / take notes about everything that our trails needs done to make it correct. This will be done with a member of the USFS. I hope everyone understands.

Also. Last thing for this morning here.

I know we have about 54 members and a few others that just hang out on here. I would like to ask for something else from everyone. As everyone that has showed up to a big work weekend we usually rent a bobcat to dig the holes that we would not be able to drill thru. It costs money to do that each month. I am asking for everyone on here to step up and donate to a good cause. I am not asking for much from everyone here. At the most i would like to get 15 per member. That would be for this year. That would give us 2 rentals that we sponsered plus. I myself stepped up to the plate last year and paid for one weekend myself out of pocket for us.

How much is the bobcat rental?

Mr president I say we some some of our club funds for a day or two rental. We had talked about this before.

Darin I'm still planning on being there on the 25th. I will be in touch.

Yes, I've talked with multiple people in the club and at the impromptu morning meeting at the barn In December about chipping in for the rentals, and of the people I spoke to, no one said they were against it.

Here soon, this year i hope. We will not have to worry about rentals so much as we have some equipment coming from Tellico. Each rental weekend costs us about 300 give or take. So i figure if we could get between 10-15 per person that would like to donate to help us out it would be greatly appreciated. By me anyway it would be. Less sweating i have to do.

New decals for the year. Got mine today.

Still looking to make it next weekend... who wants to carpool from Charlotte???

Al, you can ride along with Evan and I. we plan on leaving around 0700

I still on. I will know for sure later on the week. Let me know if someone needs a ride. I am driving the 4runner comming back same day.

So. I am going to clarify a few things here. That and the more i put it out in different places the more chances it will be seen by all.

The goal this year for URE is a few things this year.

1) To get all clubs more involved in THEIR trails. Not just us but every club out there. So if you know people in other clubs that have sponsored trails then please encourage them to step up to the plate.

2) Workdays are once a month for every month except December. Yes, we do have them in the summer also. Now speaking of this, the goal of the USFS is to stop doing these workdays this year and let the clubs do their own workdays. Then WE as a club can do it on our own time / day. It would not get us out of doing them, but would encourage more people to show up at one that WE as a club decide on date / time wise.

3) WE as a club right now even can go work on our trail when ever we want to. WE do not need to ask permission to go to OUR trail and work on it. Now granted we might have to walk in if all we are doing is trash pick up, but it is not that long of a trail and i got it cleaned up before we closed the gate last year. But there has been horses / hikers on it i know. If needed i can talk the USFS into opening the gate for us most of the time. They do like me for some reason. Maybe cause they see me up there every week.

That is all for now.

Good info here

10 to 1 odds though that if you turned up at the ranger station right now they would have no idea who you are :grinpimp:

Here is some info about the Jamboree coming up.

Hello Clubs,

The Jamboree will be here in just a few short weeks. We would like to have as many clubs involved as possible. I have commitments from the Carolina Trailblazers and NAXJA so far.

The 'Swap Meet' is free this time! You have to be an individual or a club to be able to setup in the swap meet area for free. No businesses allowed in swap Meet area except by prior permission.

Free RTI Ramp. No fee to test your 4WD on the ramp. I would like a club to volunteer and handle that.

We will have a separate 4WD Off-Road Test Track for dealers to use this Spring.

Free camping for clubs that volunteer in some capacity at the Jamboree. No fee to setup a booth and recruit members, bring a generator and show videos or just sit around and enjoy the Jamboree in your own area!

Come and enter in the UORTC Games. The games are going to be even better this year!! Send in your application (attached) ASAP.

Please send in your Club form and let me know how your Club will volunteer. We need your involvement to make the Jamboree a success.
