Thanks for posting the links to all the pics Dan!
FRIGGIN RAD! Id LOVE to see some of those places when the 40 is done!
Those cliff dwellings are AMAZING!

I agree, it was a truely epic trip. Couple more areas/trails that have been on my mind for years can now be checked off.:bounce:

Looking forward to the next trip.

Jack

Thanks for taking the time to put those up. I really enjoyed looking at them. My truck should be ready for something like that next year. That looks like a lot of fun and not to mention some great scenery. How much extra fuel did you guys take along, how much water did you take as well?

Jon

Jon,

The Maze District along with some parts of the San Rafael Swell require, about, 250 miles of fuel as a minimum. Next time I want to spend more time in the Maze so additional fuel will be required to access and return from even more remote areas. Although between the two tanks on my 100 I carry 50-gallons.

I had a SS water tank built that lies flat under where the 2nd row seats used to be. It holds 16-gallons but I never needed that much. Over the 4-day period between possible fuel/water/grocery restock locations I was able to easily get by on 2-gallons per day including quick showers, cooking and drinking water for me and my dog.

Nice pics. Is the "cliff-dwelling" gas station office still in Hanksville? Do you still need a port-a-potty to get a Maze camping permit?

Yes the Phillips 66 'in the rock' station is still there in Hanksville; ditto for Blondies and their uber good freshly baked cinnamon rolls.

Yes you need to take everything out that you bring into (or make during your stay ;)) Canyonlands.

Thanks Spresso.

If you guys do that again next year, I am SOOOOOOO going. Robbie is going to be working on my motor soon, either this weekend or next week and there are just a few more things I need to get (skid plate, drawers, maybe roofrack, and take my ham test, get a ham, etc...)well, more than a few, but not too bad. I've got a year to get ready lol.

Jon
