Hi Everyone – We’ll be cancelling the organized work day on August 17th. We generally have the July & August work days more low key due to the heat so we don’t organize big projects usually. Clubs can still come up and ride the trails and pick up trash & cut back brush and clean out tail ditches that are getting blocked up. The main reason we’re cancelling the work day this August is because the recreation and fire techs will be out on fires or just returning so they won’t be available to work on the 17th. Brock & two of the fire folks are out in Idaho now and Mike & two of the timber folks will be replacing them for the Idaho engine crew this Thursday.
I’ve talked with Jen Strickland from Jeepers United and then we’ve been playing some phone tag because I know that they are interested in providing lunch at a work day. I left her a voice mail message yesterday letting her know that now that Mike is going to be heading out to Idaho that we’ve cancelled the organized work day this month. I suggested the October 19th work day that will be during the 10 Days of Uwharrie or the November 16th Work Day. We do have a club lined up to provide lunch for the September 21st Work Day.
