"Hi Everyone - Many of you are our volunteers, partners and permittees on the Uwharrie National Forest. I wanted to make sure you knew of the public open house that will be held next Tuesday, August 3 from 6 pm to 8:30 pm where the Draft Management Plan will be discussed. The location of the public open house is the NC Zoo Stedman Education Center in Asheboro, NC. This meeting is open for people to come and learn about and comment on the preliminary draft land management plan for the future of the Uwharrie National Forest. You are welcome to come any time between 6 and 8:30 pm on Aug 3. The Stedman Education Building at the NC Zoo is located to the left of the North America entrance.
The draft plan may be viewed at Welcome to the Uwharrie National Forest Plan Revision* Website
I hope many of you will be able to make it to the open house. If you can't make it you can still review the forest plan and either mail in or email comments to us. Bye - Terry"
