OK, so I'd prefer to store some water INSIDE my LC200 for a number of reasons, including temperature management, access, security, weight distribution and so on. I have tried Scepter jerry cans, HydraPak's (bladders) and water tanks, but RotopaX are best for me as they don't leak and I have several vehicles, so I can move things around pretty easily and they are the ideal size (2 gal/ea).

I have tried various mounting solutions, but simplest is a variation on your basic jerry can holder like such:

Unfortunately, these guys want $450 for these which is a bit much (10x the price of the RotopaX itself?!). Short of having something fabricated, has anyone seen something similar or that maybe uses the RotopaX twist mounts for upright storage?

Thanks.

you want the single or double mounting plate

another mounting friendly water container is the waterbrick. Though you'll probably be fabbing your mounts custom for these.

Just get a decent pices of steel or aluminum bent in an “L” at a shop with a brake and mount the normal root brackets

Drill som holes and use the cargo tie-down points.

Cool concept, but 450 is nutz.

Yep, I'm leaning towards exactly what @cboyd is describing and bolting that down to my ARB drawer wing panel.

I'd still prefer the "half box" layout as shown above, as you don't need to use up any of the RotopaX twist mounts ($35/ea without locks) and it would be far easier to deal with. Given that there are a ton of upright jerry can mounts on the market, I would think there would also be a few similar designs for RotopaX...
