Upper Windshield Seal

I have a few small rust bubbles at the junction between the upper seal and the roof that I want to take care of.

Its an easy fix, but the FSM isn't clear to me.

Can I re-install the seal without removing the windshield? Has anyone ever done this?

Literally just about posted the same question tonight, I was thinking about maybe some type of butyl tape stuff to put in the seal, mine is just poorly installed. But if someone could tell me if I could replace it properly I would do it in a heartbeat!

I could pry mine back to do most of what I need to do, but would prefer to have it entirely out of the way, assuming I can get it back in.

Its cheap to replace, just not sure if its possible with the windshield installed.

Did you buy the new part yet, you might be able to tell by looking at it? A glass guy could probably tell you.

My guess is that it wedges under the top edge of the windshield.
