These are on the company truck. Something I want to tackle?

The company will pay a shop to do it, I was just trying to save us some money.

Hi All:

Well, if times are slow at work currently, and you really want to learn about the suspension on your work truck, go for it. Otherwise, let a mechanic mess with it.

I replaced all four front ball joints on my daily driver 4x4 last month with the assistance of a friend. Had never torn into an IFS set-up before. Definitely a learning experience!

Regards,

Alan

I assume it's a torsion bar suspension. It's not an extremely hard job. You'll need to unload the torsion bars, and get an alignment after reassembly. Depending on how they are, it might be worth it to replace the ball joints while you're in there.

Wish it was torsion, I'm dealing with coils (which I am asuming will need a spring compressor). I replaced the ball joints about this time last year and it was a PITA due to the rivets. If this job is going to turn out the same, I'm leaning on someone else doing it.
