Upgrading to 2018+ multi touch screen in 2016-2017 models?

Just curious if anyone has done this swap or knows if it’s possible. It seems like the screen could be swapped fairly easily but could not find any write ups or other threads confirming how simple or complex this swap would be.

For clarification I have a 2017 that I’d like to upgrade with the later screen.

Capacitive vs resistive and single vs multi touch

Basically more responsive and allows pinch zoom on maps etc

The display looks to be about $3700. It also looks like maybe the change occurred mid-year in '18, so I wonder if the '19-'21 screen is your best bet. (If doable at all.)

Maybe you can get one from a wrecked vehicle. That price for a new one sounds pretty spendy.
