So i've done a search here ( suprising little results searching alternator and big 3 in titles) and other forums.
My alternator is dying (07 gx470) and upgrading to 150A reman sequioa.
I"m planning on just adding ( keeping current wiring as well ) a 4ga cable to the main 3 points :

- positive terminal on alternator to + battery,
- engine block to -battery,
- and body to -battery.

Is just adding a 4 ga cable sufficient? there is no added extra fuse between alternator to battery ( I've seen on some diagrams for other cars when I searched big 3)

( have some 4 ga cable xtra)

I’m not an expert on wiring the 150a Sequioa alternator to a Lexus GX470.

However, from all the posts and research I’ve done, it’s a simple plug and play upgrade.

Meaning there is no need to upgrade any wires or cables. The Lexus GX470 should already have 4 gauge wires in place.

I'm assuming that this task has already been completed, but for anyone who is unsure, this is a direct bolt on. I didn't have to modify anything when installing mine.

Thank you for posting that! Denso remans were OOS on Rock Auto. The bigger aftermarket alternators are around $500 and I'd rather go Toyota. I'll get one of those from my local dealer.

Presuming you have some lights etc running off of yours? I hope the 150A would have enough juice to run a 30" light bar, ditch lights, and 2 forward facing lights plus normal headlights at the same time.

I have all of that minus the forward facing lights. However I also have a DC-DC converter that charges my battery bank (Around 400watts), and I haven't had the slightest issue.

Sweet, this will save me a few hundred $$ for sure!
