I don't have a build page. I had a introduction page with pictures on it and that was it. I have done some new things to my cruiser and I thought I would share. I haven't been posting much on any forums but here is a couple of pics of my truck and how it sits today

I didn't want to call this a build page as I do not have step by step pictures and ect. But I didn't know what else to cal it so its just an update.

-ARB roof rack
-Awning
-DIY drawers(I took all the dimensions down and have the card board cutouts of my build PM me if you are interested.) They are not done I still have to make what I like to call the "wings" (the two sides that will fold up)

Looks good!
I love the white on black.
You need some sliders :)

welcome fellow houstonian! What part of town are you in?

Im in the NW part of town. And thanks!

hey snork thanks for posting how was the installation of the roof rack?? did you use the kit from ARB??? plus how was the bolt on to the roof?? Thanks bunch

The install was a breeze I did it all by my self the rack does not way as much as i thought it would. I lifted it alone and put it on the tabs myself.

If I remember correctly I removed the factory rack and just screwed in the tabs with the gasket provided and then screwed the rack on to the tabs.

The awning was a complete other story i had to fabricate some brackets to get the awning where i wanted it.

The part number for the Rack was 381320.

I dont se many people at all that run this rack. But the reasons I went with this rack was because i have a dog that is tall enough to look out the sun roof and I think its funny so i didnt want to cover the sun roof up. the other deciding factor was the fact that I got it for a quarter of the price of what the other racks charge.

I thought id post some pictures of the rack as everyone i see on here goes with the AO or the other flat racks on the market.

Oh and yes I used the kit from arb to install the roof rack

I will probably get a good picture and put all the dimensions through Illustrator or Photoshop. I took the build idea from a couple of threads. But I made a frame out of tubing instead of wood. Its much lighter and sturdier than wood. I also did not make the cabinets full length, that way I have hidden storage in the back that can only be accessed if the seats are lifted. The wings are not hinged because.... to make them flip up the seat backs have to be down. Instead I welded in supports to the frame and put some heavy duty Velcro (even thought the fit is so tight it does not need it). I might do a write up on the drawer. I believe i spent about 275 dollars all together on the drawers.

Snork -

I would consider this your build thread. Even though you have not included step by step modifications, you are showing your truck as it progresses, allowing for people to join in and ask questions as they see fit. That is great! I am with you though thinking that it seems funny to create a "build" page when I have not made significant changes, but each person's build is different and THAT is OK. Enjoy the build as you have the time and ability and great job making the truck YOURS!

Thank you Hardriver... Its just I often go to peoples pages and OMG they have the write ups and the lists of supplies along with links and pricing. Its amazing. I think I will go ahead and post my build on here. I will start later today with the drawer build.

LOL! I am all about craving what others are able to do! With 4 kids and a wife, I find that I need to be happy with what I can do and just enjoy the truck. Best of luck with yours!

I guess it does help that I am 23 and have no kids... :) ill enjoy it while I can. My main issue is that I have too many project. I have the hundy.. a 64 falcon gasser project... and a 1965 comet restoration in progress also... I devote a month to each car this month belongs to the LC. Next month back to the Comet i go .

Please go into detail when you have time. I'm debating building some or buying the molded SUV cargo caddy from cabelas and putting a carpet covered plywood top on it that matches the countours of the back areas.

Exactly and ignore the schoolgirls who complain it isn't technical enough for them.

Yes it is.... I got a great deal on it at 4 wheel parts. There are not to many people running this rack or at least their are not to many pictures out there.
