Amity- When are you applying fluid film? i'll come over and hang out.
You want me to buy a bigger box of Fluid Film? Probably sometime in October before it gets too cold. Let me know when you are free. Want to do a little prep beforehand. Lost my power washer from Sandy and haven't replaced it yet. Would like to do a good job this time around. Maybe do a little surface rust scraping and touch up with some rustoleum before doing the Fluid film.

Thanks for all the feedback! Clearly, I'm an amateur - so I welcome the hazing.

Since I don't have 1) time 2) access to a lift, I'd rather just pay someone to do the rust removal/prevention for me. @AmityFJ I'll give Rovertek a call. Thanks! Anyone have any other suggestions for local shops that specialize in this?

@AmityFJ and @3D FJ is there a local LC100 community in Long Island? If so, I'd love to be part of it.

Make sure you really, really want to apply waxoyl. This is a very heavy type of protectant that is hard to take off after applied. Also, a professional will coat everything inside and out of your chassis. Some mechanics/you might be pissed to work on a truck with the hardwax all over the nuts and bolts and other parts of the underbody. Tools are a pain to clean up afterwards. It's one of the reasons why I have not used waxoyl on my land cruiser that much if at all. I can say though that it works very effectively stopping rust from spreading further. It should be touched up over time as it does slowly dry up and comes off over time.

Here are pictures of before and after application on my Defender

You can buy it by the can but better if applied with spraygun and attachments. Rovers North sells it.
