UNDER DASH HVAC QUESTION (1 Viewer)

In one of my 60 series, I'm missing the mass of gray plastic under the dash above the transmission hump. In the other, I have it intact (SEE LAST IMAGE). I'm wondering what it is? Do I need it? Is it worth swapping over from my parts truck to my current build? Thanks!

You can leave it out if you don't like having air blowing on the driver side of the dash. Its the duct that feeds the driver side feet and side vent.

I've run with and without. maybe you'll get less burnt carpet smell with the duct in place, or maybe I am/was trippin...HTH/YMMV???meh?
