Anybody in the Mt. P area a wizard with u joints? I've developed some vibration and my front drive shaft has some slop in it. All signs are pointing to needing to replace said u joints. I could fumble my way around it, but if there's somebody here that is willing to help and cut my time down I'd gladly pay in beer or food.

I wish I could help... It’s a project I steered clear of because they need to be balanced. Also, it’s a bonafide PIA. I’ve had these ready to be installed for over a year...

I did the U-joints on the rear shaft of my 100 series. Worst part for me was removing the driveshaft. Had to borrow a friends snap on air wrench to turn the nuts.

It’s a fairly straight forward job. I can certainly help if you have the parts and a vice.

However, if you can go without the truck for a couple days, I would highly recommend removing the shaft and taking it to CSR driveshafts specialist in North Charleston. The guy there does great work and the pricing was surprising low. One of my u-joints was defective and so I had a vibration after performing the replacement. He replaced the u-joint, painted the driveshaft and balanced it for like $90. I’d imagine you could get the whole driveshaft rebuilt for a good price. All work is done with high quality parts.

I can help if needed, it would probably be best if you could stop it off so I can do it st night, but I'm at 24 hours of Daytona now and will be skiing next weekend.

I’ll have to check the out. I have truck parked at work for now. We have a good mechanics shop behind our location, was going to stop in and see what their neighbor rates are this week.
