This is why I laugh when people think they're getting a deal with that "ultra low mileage plow truck". Compare this to your FJ25 rear axle.

Sure, rotted out backing plates are fairly normal:

I've seen some serious rot............but a rotted away axle tube?
I think there's about a 1/32" of tube wall thickness remaining here.
