Two part question 2008 Toyota Landcruiser. Strange noise at first start up of the day & low coolant levels (hopefully reservoir will remain full now).

Just tested all the old VVT solenoids. highest reading was 7.1 ohms others were 6.9, 6.9, 6.8. At 200,000 I was needing new ones. Probably needed them at 120,000. or sooner.

Thank you! Just rechecked readings at about 92 degrees. Hot in garage. One read 6.0 others 7.3. took more readings and decided to change the batteries in multimeter and brought the old solenoids into A/C. Will recheck in a couple of hours.

I've got 2 that keep giving different readings. Maybe thats why I had intermittent issues.

I've got two solenoids that consistently read 7.3. Another varies between 7.1 and 7.4 (6 readings over 24 hours). One will never read the same 6.0, 6.1, 7.7, 8.0, 6.7,6.8. Probably did not need to change them all, but the amount of time I've spent after the swap just looking at the cause of engine valve noise tells me to suggest that if you are doing this change them all. My car is running better and looks like my in town milage is up a fraction. 11.7 to 12. will keep an eye on it.

I'm on my 4th oil change of Valvoline protect and restore (according to Valvoline that is what is recommended) I'll switch back to regular synthetic at 215,000. The engine really started running smoother towards the end of the 2nd change now on the 4th it is really unbelievable. runs smooth at all temps and no noise from tensioner or vvts. I did multible ohm tests on all my old vvts. 2 of them were always within spec. 1 of them gave a different reading at every test some times within spec. and 1 was never right. I heated them up for some of the tests.
