Twisted Sector Shaft

Hey guys – twisted a sector shaft a few weekends ago on my HZJ75. I have searched already and it appears to be nothing about what people have done to prevent this from reoccurring. Any ideas [other than slowing down and putting smaller boots on] are appreciated – hydro assist maybe?

I have done it also. Hydro assist might fix that problem but could cause more stress on the steering arms. I am sprung over and am leary of hydro assist having lost a arm or 2.

How?
was it by steering, or by hitting something when going fast(ish)?

If by hitting, a second steering damper can help...

Going through a really deep crack. Twisting the truck and wedging the front left tire.
