Have been noticing what I think is an increasing problem with static on the radio when the turn signal is on. (Problem is not well-defined because I usually listen to CDs.) Have only noticed it when signaling left, but seems like I spent a lot of time waiting for left-hand turns. Doesn't affect CD or radio stations with strong signals.

I have not messed with the wiring at all, and the stereo is the OEM 3-in-1. All the radio, speakers, and other wiring seems to be in virgin condition, unmolested by PO's.

So, any ideas where to start trouble-shooting this?

To answer my own question...

Based on another post, where a fellow had the same symptom caused by a short in his trailer wiring, I think I have figured out my problem.

Today I discovered that the left turn signal on my ARB bumper was full of water. This was probably causing a short, and explains why I only had the buzz in the radio when the left turn signal was on.

The right turn signal showed signs of water entry as well, so I will be working on a better solution to this (other than just disconnecting the turn signals on the bumper).

Not to hijack the thread, but I have a similar problem with static/feedback in my OEM deck, but only with the radio on. The "thump" of the feedback keeps cadence with my speed, as in it becomes faster when I accelerate and slower when I slow. The problem disappears altogether when a CD or Tape is playing. Any thoughts? Bad ground? Short? Why would the problem only occur when the radio is playing? The audio system is completely stock.

Thanks in advance. I know nothing about electronics.

Cheers,
Jay
