Hi guys... A friend of mine at work has an LX470 ('99, I think) that has a burned out turn signal (or maybe running light). I haven't looked at it myself, but he's stumped as to how to get to it. I've searched and checked the faq and didn't see anything, so maybe it's an easy fix. Any pointers I can give him? Anyone have a pic by chance?

edit: He said he tried the Lexus owners forum and had no luck... Don't hold it against him!

if its a front turn signal...just go under the truck n u will see the socket on the backside of the light.

If the parking light next to the headlight is out...
1: open hood
2: remove screw holding the light housing on near the edge of the fender.
3: next give a slight tug towards the front of the vehicle on the light housing. it should pop right out.

there was a recent thread on this topic a few days ago...check back for it for more details. I'm on my cell phone so I can't type all the details.

its a 168/194 bulb in the parking light btw.

Wow - this did not work for me at all. Caution!! As careful as I was, I could not get that damn housing out and actually separated the clear lens from the rest of the housing even though I wasn't prying directly on the lens.

There is nothing in the shop manual on this either. Note I am not saying 1LoudLX is wrong - I verified the approach at other Lexus sites.

Maybe now that the housing on my '00 is probably 15 years old it is less willing to flex.

FAIL on my part. Don't make the same mistake!
