I have an ln145 hilux 2000 year model. Came with the g55 gearbox I believe. Engine has been running since new. No smoking, no oil burning, not even noisey, some people think I'm on a gas engine lol.

Engine has power etc but I was wondering if the original non turbo pump would be able to fuel a turbo like a t25 or something small. Probably turn the fuel screw up a bit, run 5 to 10psi of possible just for a slightly more torque output for the field areas. Have huge tyres and im thinking the extra push would help.

Or do I need the 2lt pump? Also what about injectors?

2L is a very reliable engine, 2LT is not. I wouldn't turbo it, if you really need more power swap it for a 3L, 5L or KZ.
My 2L temp gauge went as high as it could go, no clue how I didnt notice a leak.in radiator. Drove it about 15 mins like that and just stopped and filled it with drain water, and temp was below half mark whole day after. Lol

I was thinking about the 1kz but I know once they overheat thats the end of the head.

The 2L head can crack and not show any dramatic symptoms (e.g. only slow coolant loss). A turbo will quickly let you know if there are cracks. If you're prepared to rebuild or replace the engine in the near future, then try a turbo.
