Last month we were overseas and in the major European cities, its all about size (small) and Land cruisers are not on the menu. I thought these little runabouts were interesting.
Sarah and I spent some time in Venice several years ago. Of course, we did a lot of walking around. I didn't notice the lack of cars right away. It wasn't until we traveled to Verona and had to start dodging cars, that I realized we hadn't really seen any in Venice. It was interesting.
a few of a "standard Irish Cruiser." They are considered a big tow vehicle. People regularly tow with Audi sports cars, and the equivalent of a Nissan Sentra! Many of the LC's had all of the windows rearward of the first row blocked out. The last pic is from the top of Connor Pass on the Dingle Peninsula, a rare moment of sunshine for us.
Nice write up Murf and Ireland is one of my future destinations!
I currently own a VW Jetta Sportswagen TDi but VW will own mine back in about 2 months. I have heard that the EPA measures diesel emissions based on amount and not the amount per mpg which would make more sense. I love driving my TDi and will be sad to see it go and the thought of diesel everything here in the US go down the drain as well.
I keep wondering why a diesel hybrid hasn't been developed yet? The technology has been around for years (Trains) and it should be easy to produce a small diesel engine that would meet the NOx EPA standard accompanied with Toyota electric motors and see a small car like a Prius get 50, 60+ mpg.
