Anyone have good experience or knowledge of a reputable turbo shop in ABQ? What I'm looking for is a shop that can properly bench test a petrol Garrett T3/T4 hybrid - pressurize both hot/cold sides, oil chamber, coolant chamber (this one has both), and spin it up to check balance, etc. Thanks in advance for any help, advice recommendations.

Any experience with Motiva Motorsports?

No direct experience, but Motiva is pretty deep into NMRA and that's a big turbo world. If they don't have those capabilities I'd imagine they know who does. Good luck.

Dave from Motiva is a standup guy and knows his stuff. A few years back when I was a UNM mechanical engineering student, designing and building racecars (https://sites.google.com/a/unm.edu/fsae/), he would donate lots of dyno time to the team. He would also help with ECU mapping.

Not likely many performance shops do the component level testing you describe. Most problems could be diagnosed during disassembly and inspection and system level testing.

Thanks, I'll give Dave a call and see what he recommends.

Turbo City

I sent a turbo for a diesel Mercedes-Benz out to a shop in California, "Turbo City". They came highly recommended, and I was happy with the results.

Might be worth call. I remember talking to a guy named Gary.

I went to Motiva and was really impressed by Dave.

As for CA, I lived there and you really can't go wrong by just dealing directly with Turbonetics. They are extremely busy, super slow to get anything done but they are pretty much the big dog...
