You said earlier you repalced your altenator with a new one which did not have the the vacuum pump what are you using for a substitute for vacuum
 
I turbo'd my '84 2L Toyota diesel years ago and have been running 15+ lbs of boost with no issues. It is intercooled and my CR is 21.5 I believe. I don't see any problems running this amount of boost if you monitor the EGT's (1105 F max post turbo in my case) and cool it down properly. They are well built and robust little engines.

One pic has the OEM elbow which I blew out after a few thousand kms.

All the other astronaut looking stuff is insulation on the 2nd fuel system required to run SVO (grease as a fuel)

I guess in my case I'm really happy with what about 14lbs of boost does for the driveability and by the look at my EGT numbers things are not getting hot at all as compared to some. For me it's the balance I'm happy with WRT power, drive ability, fuel economy and hopefully long term viability. It appears my set up is tuned to well below what the upper limits are so I'm hoping it'll last a long time without failures.

Hi, i like your idea of using the valve cover as the turbo return line.. but i do have a question about it.. the oil from the turbo is quite hot and wondering if the hot oil will effect the valve cover gasket?, and let say if your vehicle is bank on the left side, how can the oil flow into the valve cover.. (do you know what i mean).

I am planning to use your setup and expereince myself.. my turbo would sit high like yours.. and want to route the oil in the valve cover instead of to the oil pan..

I don't know what would happen in the situation. I guess I suspect nothing would happen at least I hope not!
Besides, that would have to be one huge side hill. I mean you'd have to park that way and idle for a while.
I'm joking of course.

The AXT manifold definitely holds the turbo high, I'm not sure how the 13BT manifold would have the turbo sit. In my case it's higher by accident, we realized when we mated everything up that it wouldn't work without an adapter. It is definitely sweet to have it high though b/c there's lots of room to work under the turbo on the stuff below. Putting the drain in the valve cover is convenient and less work than taking off the oil pan but hell who knows maybe the next time I'm on a side hill I may be in trouble!
