I just bought a 2001 Tundra with the V8. There seems to be an exhaust leak noise, mostly detectable on acceleration. Is this an issue with Tundras? Any other issues I should explore? Its just a 2WD model for DD. Thanks

It is likely the RH exhaust manifold or could be both manifolds. They sometimes leak at the cylinder head flange. It will require a new malifold(s). IF the vehicle is less than three years in service and if it has traveled less than 36,000 miles, warranty should cover the repair. If either is exceeded, it's on your billfold.

I just had my 2000 warranty. Toyota has extended the warranty to 100,000 but only take it to them if the check engine light is on. No warranty unless the light comes on. They are finding that all the Tundras manifold are cracking on both sides were the O2 sensor mounts into the manifold. Good luck

Head over to TundraSolutions.com, it is well documented. If your over 100K, and the warranty doesn't apply, get headers.
