Need to get out this weekend. I'm open to either Saturday or Sunday, and heading to Sibley Mansion, Copper canyon area, or maybe the North end of C-gap for some exploring - I'm not sure Sibley is open anymore, so if anyone has some info on that it would be helpful.

Post up if you wanna come along, and we'll figure out the details.

Might be able to break free. Which day and time? Meeting place? Terry

Man! I'm driving to Texas this weekend to visit family! Otherwise I'd be down. Next time!

I'm leaning towards Sunday, as I just found out an old friend will be in town Saturday. ~8:00 am meeting time is preferred. Place depends on where we go and where you're coming from. If we're going to the copper canyon area, I was thinking of going over Reddington, then up River Rd. If it's the backside of C-gap, then it doesn't make as much sense to do that. I don't know the area in Copper canyon well, and I don't have maps, so unless the local says he can go then I'm saying C-gap. I'm really up for anything, though, and new is better for me - I'd rather not run Chiva again.

Looks like I won't make it this weekend. Too many other projects. T

too bad. i think i'll be going tomorrow after all. not sure yet, but i'm now thinking jackson cabin...or at least that direction.

If you run into a short cocky Itailian who drives a Mash vintage military ambulance, that's my friend Joe. He may be chasing whitetails this weekend. Tell him I said hi.;)

long day, lots of miles covered. i started out intent on seeing jackson cabin - went through reddington, south along the san pedro. then while i was heading east on whatever road that is, approaching the turn north to start heading up the galiuros i saw the playa in the distance calling me. so i ditched my plans and headed for it, only to end up in willcox instead due to the damn road not taking me where i wanted to go. while tooling around in willcox i spotted a sign pointing towards the chiricahua national monument. that sounded good, so off i went. had lunch at a nice little picnic area just inside the monument, took a quick hike, then headed back. all told i did about 240 miles, about 80 on dirt. it was a beautiful day to be in the desert.

That is the Cascabel/Wilcox hwy.Did you go by a ranch called the 3 Links?
Almost an endless supply of places to check out, right?

I'm pulling out Thanksgiving day and will be camped out about halfway between the Muleshoe ranch and Jackson cabin for about a week if you get the itch to make the run again.

ya 3 links - forgot the name of the road i took east. might take you up on that second run, i wanna check out that area some more. muleshoe is where i ditched my plans. the chiricahuas were beautiful too, i'll definitely be back there soon.
